Austin Distel:

Well, lesson one, we promised is how you onboard your customers and what are the requirements that you think are necessary to get started with content at scale written with freelance writers and AI, and why onboarding is so important for making an efficient process going forward?

Osama Zahid:

I think the fundamental part of rocket content is onboarding the clients because let's say when somebody wants to offer your service, they have a certain perception in their mind as to what they expect, the final result. To be able to live up to their expectations, it's important for us to be on the same page with them. Onboarding the clients is one thing, but having to get to know what they exactly require or what kind of website they have is necessary. Because without it, we would just walk around in circles with no objective in mind. The onboarding process is, per se, pretty simple at first, as soon as they pay for the service, we offer them a Google Form for which they have to fill in the details, basic details regarding themselves, their names, their background, but the most important aspect amongst [inaudible 00:01:21] is the website URL, the niche, and the types of articles that they prefer.

Osama Zahid:

Some would argue that website URLs are not necessary, but later in this webinar I would show you why it is mandatory for us to have the website URL because it really, really helps us with the keyword research. Alongside that, the website niche is obviously mandatory. It's important because it gives us a hint into the client's mind as to what they exactly require, what their website's team has built upon, and the type of content they would prefer.

Osama Zahid:

And lastly, the types of articles, this is another category, different clients have different ambitions. For example, some clients would want us to produce informational content and they would want us to have a traffic audience who would view their content, whereas others would prefer commercial content such as affiliate sites, Amazon reviews, product reviews, product comparisons. That is also an essential part because let's just say if a client has an affiliate website, there are more derivations of details that we would require from them such as their affiliate ID tags, their products, what kind of products do they want? Do they want to compare products? Do want to add a list of products for us to describe?

Osama Zahid:

The onboarding process seems relatively simple, but it is, I would say, one of the most important aspects of this entire operation that we're doing.

Austin Distel:

So true. And so if you're watching this and you're a brand and you're not an agency, really, how I would think about this is, what's your goals and how do you plan on getting there? Obviously that's what the onboarding is when an agency takes you on. But how do you go about this? Maybe what are some of the questions that you would ask? Is there a type form or what does the system look like for onboarding clients?

Osama Zahid:

Well, I send them a welcome message and I have this standard questions that I ask each of them depending on what their answers are on the form, because sometimes even with the form, the clients are unable to express themselves as how they would want it.

Osama Zahid:

For additional communication, which is key by the way, communication is key in this business, but without it, I don't think we could succeed as an agency at a content writing service.

Osama Zahid:

I ask them additional questions about details relating to their site. I also ask them about some of the previous articles that they may have written because this essentially helps us with our keyword research, which is the next step. We don't want to produce keywords or articles that are repetitive. We don't want to produce articles that are out of context or not aligned with their website's team. I generally ask them follow-up questions based on what they filled in the form about the website, the niche, or maybe narrowing down the niche. It helps us get a sense as to what the client would require.

Austin Distel:

Cool. And I think that there's probably a lot of people in different niches here that are watching and they're thinking, "Is this really right for me? Is it going to work in my industry?" From your bird's-eye view, are there certain industries where this works better than others?

Osama Zahid:

I think there are some specific types of niches that are really, really rare because most of the clients we've had, they have some very common or popular niches, such as pets, kitchen, home decor, DIYs, camping, RVs, these are very diverse, but they're all very popular. But sometimes there are certain niches that we find it difficult to accommodate with Jasper because some of those niches are difficult to build upon.

Osama Zahid:

Jasper obviously does build it, but somehow it manages to build that content with all its features, but the quality of the content can sometimes be of questionable authenticity. What we do ask the clients is to provide us the niche at the beginning, right at the beginning, so we can explain the entire situation if it's a common niche. Even if it's a not-so-common niche, it's good to go. But if it's a niche that's very rare or that's not... You would search for on a daily routine or a daily basis, then we could explain it to them as to what are new precautions, what are the expectations and how we would perceive in this sense.

Austin Distel:

Perhaps, certain, very technical topics, maybe name a couple that were outside of the scope that Jasper hasn't read enough about, because basically it read the first time it consumed the internet was in 2019. It's actually since early on last year when we started the business, it has learned a lot more, so you'll find updated content now written by Jasper and it's getting smarter, but if there's only a handful of articles written on a very specific topic, it will have less breadth of knowledge. Maybe what are some of those topics that you've seen that it doesn't always hit the mark?

Osama Zahid:

Some of the topics, the first one that comes to my mind is programming, but not basic programming, Jasper handles that very well, but on a more expert-level programming, maybe C++ or Python, there's very technical articles that have a lot of audio/visual content within them, as well. Since they have specific queries, most programming languages have specific commands that need to be followed or specific search queries. Topics like those that are very practical or very technical, such as high-level coding or very technical coding, that can sometimes tend to produce a data that may be questionable, not always, but at some point you may... Only experts can recognize that no, this is not correct. This is only partially correct. This is one topic that comes to my mind.

Austin Distel:

Cool. So that's how you onboard your clients. You ask a lot of question, you ask your goals, what are maybe some goals that your clients expect and that you meet those expectations?

Osama Zahid:

Our main objective is based upon generating traffic for them. That's what we promise them and that's what they expect, as well. What we tell them is that Jasper and we're working with Jasper or [other 00:08:24] tools, will help their website, it'll bring their website back from the dead. It'll help them gain traffic. It'll give them a boost and it can essentially help or allow them to turn their old or dead websites into money-making sites eventually. But we do tell them that once it lifts off completely, you can hire an editor, you can hire a proper writer, but our main service or our main objective is to give those old or new domains that have little to no traffic of major boost.
